Design Systems Lead

Orbit & Oak is a product design studio working with start-ups. We are growing our design team and looking for a Design Systems Lead.

About the role

You will lead a small design systems team and set the direction for how the whole product is designed and built. This is a hybrid role: two or three days a week in London.

What you will do

• Set the roadmap for the design system and agree priorities with product and engineering leads
• Coach two designers and an engineer who work on the system part-time
• Measure adoption and the cost of inconsistency, and report on it each quarter
• Introduce a contribution model that scales beyond the core team

About you

• Experience leading or mentoring in a design systems or platform team
• A track record of getting a system adopted, not just built
• Comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders
• Hands-on in Figma and able to read front-end code

What we offer

• A salary of £80k to £92k, depending on experience
• A pension with 5% employer contribution
