Senior Design Engineer

Halcyon Systems runs a business banking app for freelancers. We are growing our design team and looking for a Senior Design Engineer.

About the role

You will sit between design and engineering: building the front end of the design system and prototyping new interactions in code. This is a hybrid role: two or three days a week in London.

What you will do

• Build accessible React components from the design specs, with Storybook documentation
• Prototype interactions and motion in code so designers can test ideas quickly
• Keep Figma and code in sync: tokens, naming and versions
• Pair with designers and engineers on tricky UI problems

About you

• Solid TypeScript and React, and a designer's eye for spacing and type
• Experience with CSS architecture, theming and design tokens
• Comfortable in Figma and in a code editor
• You care about accessibility and performance

What we offer

• A salary of £78k to £92k, depending on experience
• A learning budget of £1,000 a year
• A pension with 5% employer contribution
